Sweet + Spicy Bhel Puri

Dish Overview

Bhel Puri is the midday perfect snack. It’s sweet, it’s spicy, its tangy, and it’s savory! You’ll be delighted with this delicious and easy to make.

 

Ingredients

  • Bhel Puri mix - 3 cups (about 130 g)

  • Bhel Puri Chutney or Tamarind Date Chutney - 4-6 tbsp 

  • Potatoes - 2 large

  • Onion (any kind) - 1 small

  • Roasted unsalted Peanuts - 1/2 cup

  • Chopped Cilantro (including stems) - 1/2 cup

Directions

  1. Boil and peel the potatoes and chop them into bite size pieces.

  2. Dice or mince the onion and chop the cilantro.

  3. Assemble all the ingredients. Mix them together in a mixing bowl and serve.

RECIPE NOTES

  1. The potatoes can be cooked ahead of time and saved for later use.

  2. Add a tsp of lemon juice to keep the potatoes from turning dark.

  3. I liked finely chopped onions. Onions can also be minced.
